Smiles!

Yesterday while sitting with my best girlfriend in our usual restaurant, an elderly couple came in. I could not take my eyes off their faces. Their smile wrinkles made both of them positively shine!

“So be it!”  A Mini 3-Act Play

-- In which God creates man, then woman, then man meets woman                                   by Gracie Rockland

Act 3 – Adam meets Eve

The scene is a field of flowers. With her back to the audience Stage Right, Eve is sitting among the flowers, humming.  God – in a long flowing righteous purple robe - enters with Adam Stage Left.  God leaves Adam stunned dead in his tracks and goes Up Stage Center to watch. The sun is setting. The evening sounds of birds and crickets are heard.

Adam looks at God, gesturing towards Eve. God nods and smiles.

Adam takes hesitant steps towards her and stops as she stands and stretches. She smiles sweetly and approaches him, gathering flowers as she comes.  They meet Down Stage Center.

She examines the scar in his side, murmuring sympathies. He runs his fingers thru her hair.

Adam grins broadly at the audience.

Adam – “WELL, I’LL BE DAMNED!”

God throws His head back in a hearty amused laugh, lifts His hand.

God – “SO BE IT!”
